We are currently funding our First Project.
What will we be doing?
Not just an orphanage.
We believe there are more holistic solutions than orphanages alone. Many times children left at orphanages are not true orphans, but abandoned or left alone. We want to create an environment where they will have the stability of a family group, and given the opportunity and skills they need to succeed in the world.
Start Small.
As big and overwhelming as the task can be, we can start small. We have been preparing to purchase a vacant mission house, directly beside an agricultural training center that is also being used. With the available beds, we should be able to house at least 20-40 students.
Discipleship.
What good do we do if we help these kids out physically or with a vocational education, but fail to give them a solid Bible training? We will have Bible and Evangelism training throughout their time in our program.
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is key to getting out of poverty for these students. We want to help them with a vocational skill, and then get behind them to start a business, partner in a business, or get a job to provide for their own family one day.
Local Partners
We will partner with local church partners to staff the orphanage and the vocational programs. Vetting employees and creating effective systems for accountability will be critical to maintain a safe environment for all of the staff and students, and to Honor Christ in everything that we do.
Sustainability
Our goal is to have 70% of all of our operational costs covered by local investments and partners in the area. If God wills it to grow and run smoothly, we will exit and start another project.
What is our timeline?
Our goal is to be fully funded by June 2022. We hope to have the house and neighboring campground under contract and rehab by September 2023. If God has called you to walk with us in this journey, we would greatly appreciate it!
